Ahuneyya Pahuneyya * आहुनेय्य पाहुनेय्य - Dr. Om Prakashji
This book forms a part of the series published by VRI on the life of select senior Vipassana meditators. The primary purpose of this series is to motivate people by providing an ideal example of how a householder can live a happy and peaceful life by practicing Vipassana meditation.
Dr. Omprakash was a friend and the family physician of Mr. S. N. Goenka. He was inspired to join a Vipassana course after witnessing the calm and peaceful death of Mr. Goenka’s mother, an established Vipassana meditator, even in the face of intense pain. In his first course itself, Dr. Omprakash became a stream-attainer (the first stage of liberation). He was appointed as an assistant teacher in 1988.
This book contains the life-story of Dr. Omprakash, his phenomenal contribution in the spread of Dhamma, incidents from his life reflecting his simple way of living, his humorous and humble nature, his concern for other people and profound calmness in the face of every adversity. This book also includes various articles written by Dr. Omprakash in Vipassana newsletters.
This book is ideal for Vipassana meditators as well as non-meditators.
