Published as a part of the series by VRI on the 'Great Disciples of the Buddha', this book aims to inspire old students to continue their practice seriously as well as to motivate new students to walk the same path as the exemplary practitioners of Vipassana meditation.
Soan-Kolivisa and Sona, male and female chief disciples of the Buddha, had many similarities in their spiritual journeys in spite of coming from totally different yet difficult backgrounds. Soan-Kolivisa, born with a delicate stature faced many problems in meditation. Sona, an old woman, neglected by her sons, also met many challenges on the path to liberation.
This book narrates life stories of these two meditators who were regarded as foremost in striving ardently (aggam āraddhaviriyānan). It also contains guidance given to them by the Buddha in their quest for liberation.
This book is ideal for Vipassana meditators as well as non-meditators.
